The Deaf Initiative in Information Technology (DIIT) is a project of the Applied Computer Technology Department (ACT), of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at the Rochester Institute of Technology. DAV is a national organization advocating on behalf of veterans with disabilities. Formed in 1920 and chartered by Congress in 1932, the million-member DAV is the official voice of America's service-connected disabled veterans -- a strong, insistent voice that represents all of America's 2.1 million disabled veterans, their families and survivors. Its nationwide network of services -- free of charge to all veterans and members of their families -- is totally supported by membership dues and contributions from the American public. Not a government agency, the DAV's national organization receives no government funds.

In existence for 57 years, the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association is dedicated to enhancing the lives of veterans and all Americans with spinal cord injuries (SCI) or diseases by ensuring quality health care, promoting research, and advocating for civil rights and independence. The Association is an independent national veterans service organization (VSO) whose staff works cooperatively with other veterans and disability groups. The majority of our 2,300 members reside in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine and Pennsylvania; however, in our quest to meet the needs of persons of all ages with spinal cord paralysis, we have begun to expand our services to additional states in New England and the Northeast.

Founded in 1919, The National Amputation Foundation (NAF) has for over 80 years been offering valuable assistance to veterans of World War I, II, Korea and the Vietnam Conflict. Since then, the Foundation has expanded its facilities to include civilian amputees as well. It provides legal, vocational, and psychological services and facilitates self-help groups. Publishes a bi-monthly newsletter.

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD), established in 1880, is the oldest and largest constituency organization safeguarding the accessibility and civil rights of 28 million deaf and hard of hearing Americans in education, employment, health care, and telecommunications. A private, non-profit organization, the NAD is a dynamic federation of 51 state association affiliates including the District of Columbia, organizational affiliates, and direct members.
