American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association
A national trade association representing patient care facilities and manufacturers of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Its major focus is survival issues for the field, including areas such as reimbursement, insurance, and government regulations.

National Amputation Foundation
Helps people who have had amputations to adjust to society. Members are military veterans with service connected amputations, as well as civilian amputees, who help show new amputees how to cope. It provides legal, vocational, and psychological services and facilitates self-help groups. Publishes a bi-monthly newsletter.
